Joel Embiid Girlfriend: Sixers Star Dating Model Anne De Paula?

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid cares about basketball, trash talking and his push to win an NBA Most Valuable Player award. Apparently, he may also now have a new girlfriend he’ll need to carve some time away from the training facilities for. Although the Sixers big man has maintained that basketball is where his core focus is, recently a new love interest came to light.
During an exclusive GQ cover story from Clay Skipper, Embiid spoke on a wide range of things, one of which involved doing “background checks” on potential girlfriends. This resulted in a few question marks about the Sixers star’s dating life as a whole and eventually led us to find his apparent new girlfriend, 23-year-old Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Anne De Paula.
Let’s take a look at a few things which jump out linking the two, beginning with comments from the Sixers owner on social media.

Sixers Owner Michael Rubin Catches Joel Embiid on Camera
Embiid was caught in a quick moment with De Paula after a game, and team owner Michael Rubin posted on Instagram, sending some love and a sarcastic jab at the trash-talking center.

One photo won’t necessarily prove anything to be true, but it’s at least a start. Even going beyond that, the relationship between Embiid and De Paula took center stage in China. When the 76ers went overseas this preseason to take part in the NBA China Games, many looked past a moment which showed the model arriving with 7-footer.
Courtesy of the NBA’s official Twitter:

— NBA (@NBA) October 3, 2018

It’s only a quick shot at the very start of the video, but she can be seen standing next to Embiid. Apparently, the relationship is serious enough to where the NBA star opted to bring her on the long trip.

De Paula’s Previous Boyfriend & Photos
According to Bonnie McLaren of The Sun, De Paula previously dated Thet Script singer Danny O’Donoghue. She points out that the model began dating O’Donoghue when she was the love interest in a music video for the song ‘No Good in Goodbye.’
While Embiid and De Paula have yet to be caught together on camera just yet beyond the two photos above, it’s likely to come sooner or later. Here’s a look at a few photos from De Paula’s Instagram account.

Victor Oladipo Girlfriend: Is Pacers Guard Dating Anyone?

Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo has quickly emerged as one of the more talented young guards in the NBA. Although the 26-year-old has jumped around a bit in his career, moving from the Orlando Magic to the Oklahoma City Thunder and finally the Pacers, he’s come into his own as of late. The 2017-18 season was the best of Oladipo’s career, as he averaged 23.1 points and won the NBA’s Most Improved Player award.
While Oladipo’s impressive season was complete with an All-Star appearance and being named to the All-NBA Third Team, his life off the court has been mostly under wraps. It’s apparent the Pacers guard doesn’t let his love life get out into the public all that much, which means there’s a fair amount of speculation.
Interestingly, most of the speculation has featured just one person and it’s lasted for an extended period. Let’s take a look at the rumblings surrounding Oladipo’s dating life and potential girlfriend, Bria Myles.

Are Victor Oladipo and Bria Myles Dating?
The connection of Oladipo to Myles began when Bossip linked the two back in December of 2017. It was slightly tough to gauge whether or not all the stars aligned and these two were actually together, but it made sense at the time.
As Player Wives cited, a string of not-so-random events points to Oladipo and Myles at least having some type of connection. It began when Player Wives revealed she called the Pacers guard “Bae” on social media, in a post which has since been deleted. This happened on December 9, just prior to the two being linked.
The very next day is when things ramped up, as Myles posted the following photo of herself on Instagram at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, where the Pacers play.

In somewhat of a surprising twist, there’s been nothing from either side since that point. Even taking it one step further, nothing has been mentioned of Oladipo’s love life outside of Myles for the most part.
When evaluating Oladipo’s Instagram account, he’s primarily kept it basketball related. This, of course, doesn’t mean he’s not dating, but it does mean that he’s not overly interested in making his love life public at the moment.

Ben Simmons Girlfriend: Photos of Sixers Star With Kendall Jenner

Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons has put together an impressive career in the NBA in a very short period. The 2018 NBA Rookie of the Year wrapped up a superb first season in which he averaged 15.8 points, 8.2 assists and 8.1 rebounds while leading the Sixers to the playoffs.
While Simmons’ play took center stage, the 22-year-old made plenty of headlines off the court as well, specifically when it came to his dating life. He spent the bulk of his offseason in Los Angeles, partially due to his relationship with model Kendall Jenner. Although the two attempted to keep things somewhat lowkey, it didn’t take long for the media to jump all over the relationship.
But their relationship didn’t start without drama following closely behind, and that partially came thanks to Simmons’ ex-girlfriend Tinashe. The Sixers star and singer dated for six months before coming out publicly, as College Candy revealed, but Simmons ended it in 2018, which is where the fun begins.

Tinashe Around Ben Simmons and Kendall Jenner
The rumblings pointed to Simmons and Jenner starting to date right around the time he called it off with Tinashe, but we’ll never know the exact timeline. One thing we do know is that the 23-year-old model had no interest in the drama his ex-girlfriend brought to the table.
As Melody Chiu and Natalie Stone of People revealed, Jenner was interested in keeping her relationship private and called it “annoying” when addressing the Tinashe situation.
“She’s being very private about her relationship with Ben. Kendall’s really different from her sisters in that sense,” a source close to Jenner, 22, tells PEOPLE.
“She honestly doesn’t want people talking about who she’s dating and is very protective of her personal life,” the source explains about the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star. “She hates the attention and it’s been annoying that the drama with Tinashe has come up.”
Things got so bad that the singer wound up in the same club/bar as Simmons and Jenner, leading to a pretty uncomfortable situation. While the Tinashe topic was seemingly a hot-button one, it wasn’t what led to the breakup.

Simmons and Jenner Were Off . . . Then Back On?
When the news came that Simmons and Jenner had apparently broken up around September, it was rumored both sides moved on quickly. For the 76ers guard, Sports Gossip cited back-and-forth on social media with the ex of Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker, model Ashley Moore. The site first revealed Moore dropping some eye emojis on one of Simmons’ Instagram photos and the Sixers guard giving some attention back.
There didn’t seem to be confirmation of Simmons with Moore or any indication they were official, but the same couldn’t be said for Jenner. As Carlos Greer of Page Six cited, she was caught getting close with Gigi and Bella Hadid’s brother, Anwar, at a party after the breakup.
“Kendall was sitting with Anwar all night and made out with him for quite some time,” a spy said. “They didn’t give a damn who saw them.”
And now, here we are.
After both Simmons and Jenner had reportedly moved on, the script flipped back in the other direction in early November. Ian Mohr of Page Six revealed the two were together at the Elbow Lane bowling alley in Philadelphia early in the 2018-19 NBA season.
Said a source, “Kendall and friends were celebrating the 76ers’ win against the LA Clippers. Kendall arrived in Philadelphia on a private jet after spending Halloween with her sisters.”
The source further told us, “The party was drinking wine and having some bites as they bowled . . . Kendall and Ben were having a great time with friends partying after his hometown victory.”
Rumblings had been picking up that the Sixers star wanted to get back with Jenner, but nothing was heard until this. Based on how private Jenner apparently tried to keep things the first time, there’s a good chance we may not know the truth behind this for a while.

Latest on Simmons & Jenner
As Drew Corrigan of House of Highlights revealed, Jenner was in attendance for Simmons’ game with the 76ers on Friday, November 23.

— Drew Corrigan (@Dcorrigan50) November 24, 2018

Roughly two weeks or so after that, Daily Mail revealed that Simmons and Jenner went ice skating in Philly. It seems the model is spending a fair amount of time in the basketball star’s hometown.
Even the Sixers co-owner Michael Rubin spoke about the relationship between Simmons and Jenner during an interview with Scott Davis and Business Insider. He was asked about the petition to ban Jenner from attending Sixers games and didn’t sound thrilled about it.
Rubin: I think it’s ridiculous. I think Kendall’s awesome. I’ve spent a bunch of time with her. I was with Kendall a few days ago and Kendall insisted on going home and getting a good night’s sleep when Ben wanted to stay out for a late dinner. So, Kendall’s been a great influence on him, and we’ve won every game she’s been at but one so far.

Bruins Overcame Slow Start In Tuesday’s Comeback Victory Over Coyotes

The Boston Bruins certainly didn’t come out firing Tuesday night at TD Garden.
The B’s turned in an ugly opening frame against the Arizona Coyotes, including a wasted four-minute power play opportunity. But despite heading into the first intermission down 2-0, Boston managed to rally and secure a 4-3 win, extending its win streak to three.

Jewelry Stealing Prank: Best Employee Reactions [VIDEO]

The “jewelry stealing prank,” the latest viral trend sweeping across internet, is filling social media with videos of people trying on expensive jewelry and then pretending to run out of the store, while filming the reactions of the unsuspecting store employees.
The viral trend started in China, with hundreds of videos flooding Chinese social media sites. The videos generally start with a patron trying on some expensive piece of jewelry, and as soon as the store employee leans back, the customer takes off running toward the door before abruptly stopping to nonchalantly check themselves out in the mirror, while remaining inside the shop.

The reactions from the very loyal jewelers and store employees often shows the employee jumping into action, sliding across the jewelry counter and sprinting off after the customer before realizing the customer stopped running. Quite of few of the videos show the employee embarrassingly darting back behind the counter.

It is just the latest in a series of online trends that have taken off across Asia including  the “falling stars” challenge and the “flaunt your wealth” trend, a fad which is believed to have originated in Russia. The “falling stars” trend has Instagram users dramatically lie on the ground as if they’ve just fallen and injured themselves in glamorous settings, such as beside luxury jets, yachts, sports cars, private tennis courts, exotic destinations and the like. The “flaunt your wealth” challenge takes “falling stars” one step further, and has the rich Instagram users adding all of their belongings surrounding them after they’ve fallen, such as expensive makeup, clothes, jewelry, etc.
According to RT, the “jewelry stealing prank” is thought to have been inspired by Indonesian Instagram-influencer Harvinth Skin, who tricked a shoe store employee into chasing after him after he took off running out of the store, only to watch Skin casually jog back into the store immediately after. The video has been viewed over a million times on Instagram alone.

The clips of the jewelry prank began circulating on popular short video app Tik Tok – known as Dou Yin in China earlier this month, according to the Daily Mail. The reactions to the store employees jumping into action has the internet in tears, complimenting the jewelers’ quick reactions and loyalty to their job.
“Do these shops only hire ex Olympic hurdlers?” one user wrote on Twitter. “I’d either be falling on my face or crashing through the glass. These are some graceful AF jewelry store workers, I’m just sayin.”

Some users questioned why the jewelry stores didn’t have mirrors closer to the cases, and wondered why so many of the stores have the mirrors located so closely to the exit. Others jokes that if this prank takes off in America, the store clerks wouldn’t be able to jump the counter to run after the perpetrator.
“American clerks would be like ‘oh well I tried.’ When in reality they still trying to get over the counter 5 minutes later,” user Jersey Girl wrote.

Sidney Crosby Shining Amid Penguins’ Underwhelming Start To Season

The Pittsburgh Penguins haven’t gotten off to the best of starts this season, but their star player continues to provide his usual production.
Sidney Crosby (15 goals, 17 assists) currently has 32 points on the campaign for the Penguins, who sit in fourth place in the Metropolitan Division entering Friday’s contest with the Boston Bruins. Not to mention, Crosby boasts Pittsburgh’s second-highest rating at plus-eight.

Bill Belichick Offers Typical Answer To Question About Dominance Vs. Steelers

Bill Belichick might as well add Mayor of Pittburgh to his illustrious résumé.
During his time as head coach of the New England Patriots, Belichick has won 11 of 14 games against the Steelers and is 7-2 against current Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin.
The Patriots visit the Steelers on Sunday, looking to bounce back from their last-second loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 14. Despite Belichick’s ownership of Pittsburgh, he doesn’t think it will play a factor during the 2018 edition of the AFC rivalry.
“Nope,” Belichick said Friday when asked if his record against the Steelers told him anything, via ProFootballTalk. “Zero.”

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display( “gpt-ad-desktop-out-of-page” ); });

New England and Pittsburgh played an instant classic in 2017, as Dion Lewis scored with 56 seconds remaining to give the Patriots the lead. The Steelers responded by marching down the field quickly, courtesy of a JuJu Smith-Schuster 69-yard catch-and-run. Jesse James appeared to catch a 10-yard touchdown pass on the next play, but after a three-minute review, the pass was ruled incomplete. Two plays later, Ben Roethlisberger was picked off in the end zone by Duron Harmon to seal the win for the Patriots.
Tom Brady and Co. need a win Sunday to keep the No. 1 seed in the AFC in their sights, while the Steelers are looking to snap a three-game losing streak that has them in danger of falling out of the playoff picture.
While Belichick might not think his ownership of the Steelers matters, we have a feeling it’s in the mind of at least a few members of Steelers organization.

Pokemon Go Trainer Battles: 10 Tips You Need to Know

Pokemon Go‘s highly anticipated Trainer Battles have finally been added. If you’re looking to step up your PVP game, you’ve come to the right place. Here are 10 tips and tricks you need to know for Pokemon Go Trainer Battles.

1. Pay Attention to Type Effectiveness

Type Effectiveness Chart from TheSilphRoad

You should already know this if you’re familiar with the main Pokemon games, but certain types of moves do more or less damage against certain types of Pokemon. Make sure you have a team that can cover the weaknesses of both you and your opponent. If you have a grass-type Pokemon, for instance, it would be good to pair it with a water-type Pokemon to cover its fire-type weakness.
The chart above from user Kryd0s on The Silph Road Subreddit will let you know what moves are effective or not effective against which types of Pokemon.

2. Charge Moves Can Be Game Changers
To deal damage, you need to tap the screen to use your Quick Move. As you build up energy from repeated uses of Quick Moves, you’ll be able to use a Charge Move. You can even spend Stardust and Candy to give your Pokemon a second Charge Move. After selecting a Charge Move, you have to rapidly tap the screen for maximum damage. A super effective Charge Move can cut an HP bar in half or even more.
According to GamePress, Charge Moves don’t have Charge Bars. Some moves will simply activate faster than others. Once a move is fully charged, there will be no other bars to hold more charge.

3. Use Protect Shields for When You’re in a Pinch
For those on the receiving end of a Charge Move, have no fear as you get two Protect Shields per battle. As the opponent charges their Charge Move, you can deploy the shield to negate almost all damage (according to GamePress, a Protect Shield makes the Charged Move deal one HP of damage). Keep in mind that if you use up your shields, you won’t get them back. If you’re not careful, you could be a sitting Psyduck to a Charge Move. So be sure to save them only for the Charge Moves that could deal the most damage.
You won’t know which Charge Move an opponent will hit you with until after you choose to protect yourself or not. A smart attacker can take advantage of this. You could send out a water-type like Kyogre against a grass-type and then charge up a Charge Move. The trainer with the grass-type, thinking that they’re going to be attacked with a water-type move, chooses not to use a shield as they can take a water-type attack. But then the Kyogre blasts them away with Blizzard.

4. Be Smart About Switching Pokemon
You can switch Pokemon in the middle of battle. This is great for switching from a Pokemon weak to the opponent’s attacks to one strong against the opponent’s attacks.
However, keep in mind that, according to GamePress, you won’t be able to switch Pokemon for 60 seconds after switching to a new Pokemon. So be smart about who you decide to send in.
You can also switch Pokemon after you defeat the opponent’s Pokemon. That way if you anticipate that a certain Pokemon will be sent in next, you can immediately switch to something strong against it and start racking up damage right away.

5. You Can Store Energy When Switching Out
Pokemon will retain their energy when they switch out with a new Pokemon, according to GamePress. So when they get back into battle, they’ll still have the energy they built up.
This means that you don’t have to unload your Charge Move before you switch out. You can also save the charge for when you’re facing off against an especially strong opponent.

6. Moves Are Different in Trainer Battles
Moves operate differently in trainer battles than they do in Gym or Raid Battles. According to GamePress, Quick Moves operate on “turns,” or units of half a second. So a move that lasts five turns lasts 2.5 seconds. This is done instead of continuous time to avoid synchronization problems in PVP. Each Pokemon’s HP is updated in each turn and actions occurring on the same turn will occur simultaneously. In fact, two trainers can both lose and end the match in a draw if they both defeat their Pokemon at the same time, as user jbeck84 on The Silph Road Subreddit found out.
Other values can be changed for moves in PVP. For example, Mud Shot has a power of five and an energy rate of seven normally but has a power of three and an energy of nine in Trainer Battles, according to Pokemon Go Hub. Charge Moves can also have different energy requirements, meaning it can take a shorter or longer amount of time to use them.
While these differences may be small, it’s good to be aware of them so you can better optimize your Pokemon.

7. You Can’t Gain Energy By Taking Damage
According to GamePress, taking damage in Trainer Battles doesn’t convert it to energy like in Gym or Raid Battles, according to GamePress. You can only gain energy by using Quick Moves. So bulky Pokemon that were able to build up charge and use Charge Moves by taking damage can no longer do so.

8. You Can Train With the Team Leaders

Battle with Leader: Potential Non-Legendary Counters for Master League from TheSilphRoad

From the battle menu, you can select one of the three team leaders, Blanche, Candela and Spark, to battle against. Leaders can be fought regardless of personal team affiliation and grant rewards for battling once a day according to GamePress.
They’re not representative of actual Trainer Battles as they don’t seem to use the Protect Shields ever, but battling them is a great opportunity to practice with a new team and test their synergy.
The chart above from user EverydayPoGo on The Silph Road Subreddit outlines the Pokemon of all three leaders in Master League battles and possible counters.

9. Total Damage Output Is the Most Important Factor
GamePress argues that Total Damage Output (TDO) is the most important factor in Trainer Battles. In Gym or Raid Battles, Damage Per Second (DPS) is the most important factor as the goal is to take out the defending Pokemon as quickly as possible. In Trainer Battles, however, the goal is to knock out as many of the opponent’s Pokemon as possible before dying. So the longer they can stay in battle, the better they are. Therefore, Pokemon that are both great attackers and great defenders will be the most viable.
GamePress recommends using Pokemon like Metagross with Meteor Mash, Lugia, Dragonite, Tyranitar, Raikou and more.

10. Ultra & Best Friends Can Battle Anywhere in the World
To initiate a Trainer Battle, hit the button in the lower right corner of the game and go to the Battle section. Over there, you can start a Trainer Battle by scanning the code on the screen.
Players usually have to be nearby to start a Trainer Battle, but Ultra and Best Friends can challenge each other no matter what part of the world they’re in.
You can build up friendship by playing together in Trainer Battles. In fact, as user LordSmorc on The Silph Road Subreddit points out, you can coordinate a Trainer Battle before you hit Best Friends status and then use a Lucky Egg for 200,000 XP.

Keenan Allen Injury: Positive Update Revealed for Chargers WR

The Los Angeles Chargers victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football in Week 15 was impressive for a variety of reasons. Along with the fact that running back Melvin Gordon sat out with a knee injury, the Chargers also lost top wide receiver Keenan Allen to an apparent hip injury. Allen’s absence was a big blow to the team, but it resulted in Mike Williams stepping up to have a huge night.
Following Allen’s injury, which occurred during the second quarter of Thursday’s game, the receiver was ruled as questionable to return but proved unable to do so. Regardless, the Chargers pulled off a stunning last-second 29-28 win on a two-point conversion in Arrowhead to create a tie at the top of the AFC West.
With two games remaining, the Chiefs hold the AFC West tiebreaker at this point, but Allen will obviously be needed as soon he’s healthy enough to return for the final push. Let’s take a look at the latest on his injury as well as what moment left the Pro Bowl receiver’s status up in the air moving forward.

How Keenan Allen Got Hurt
Allen nearly made one of the best catches of the season and possibly in history. On a pass thrown to the corner of the end zone, the Chargers receiver juggled the ball with one hand and hauled it in, but was ultimately ruled out of bounds. Unfortunately, this was the play in which he suffered the injury.

— NFL (@NFL) December 14, 2018

Allen got up slow after the play, was removed from the game shortly after and went to the medical tent. The Chargers then revealed he was questionable to return to the game with a hip injury.
Unfortunately, it seems Allen’s absence could extend beyond just this game, at least based on the early returns. Although one piece of analysis does point to a previous injury the Chargers wideout suffered which ultimately ended his season, this is not expected to be as serious.

Latest Insight & Outlook on Allen’s Status
As the final word on Allen’s official injury should come to light soon, there’s been various thoughts and insights that have trickled out. Specifically, former NFL doctor David J. Chao broke down the outlook on the San Diego Tribune. After first revealing Allen was likely done for the night a bit after the injury, Chao also stated that “it will be difficult for him to play next week.”
“By video, Allen suffered a hip pointer (contusion and hematoma at the iliac crest).”
“A hip pointer is a very painful injury that stiffens and swells quickly. It is difficult to run even straight ahead, as many muscles originate off the hip/pelvis bone here and any contraction causes pain.” Chao wrote.
Chao went on to cite the 2015 play against the Baltimore Ravens in which Allen caught a touchdown but lacerated his kidney on the play, ending his season. He stated that he does not expect organ damage here, though, and that Allen should be back prior to the playoffs and likely before that.
As NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported, Allen has been diagnosed with a hip pointer and no structural damage. He may miss time, but the good news is that it seems as though he should be good to go by the playoffs at the very worst.

#Chargers WR Keenan Allen, who went down hard last night, was diagnosed with a hip pointer, source said. No structural damage and nothing that’ll affect him long-term. He could miss some time, but it’s unlikely to be much. All in all, could have been much worse.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) December 14, 2018

Allen’s Week 16 outlook seems bleak at this point, but we’ll update as additional information is provided and the Chargers release the official diagnosis on their top wideout.
